Computer Science Downloads

In order to access the computer science lab remotely, you will need some special software. The computer science department recommends the following software.

Putty

Putty is a free open source ssh client. Ssh allows a user to remotely login into an ssh server securely, so that the user doesn't have to worry about anyone trying steal or browse through sensitive data. By using putty, a user can connect to the lab and work on assignments, check mail, or perform maintenance on their accounts. Putty can be downloaded as a binary (EXE) file, or as part of an installer. Downloading the binary version allows the user to just save the file, then immediately open it and use the program. Download Putty.

WinSCP

WinSCP is a free open source secure ftp client. Unlike traditional ftp, secure ftp encrypts the data between the server and the client enabling a user transfer data to or from his or her account without worry.  WinSCP can be downloaded as a binary (EXE) file or in an installer much like putty.

Download WinSCP.
