International Relations

Are you interested in a career in international business or law? Does the prospect of pursuing graduate study in international affairs excite you? Would you like to work for the U.S. Department of State or other globally focused government agencies?

If yes, an international relations major at Widener can be your passport to a successful career.

Why major in international relations at Widener University?
  • Your studies will draw heavily on government and politics courses, and you are required to study a foreign language.

  • You will learn the principles of diplomacy and foreign policy, with an emphasis on the importance of military, economic, and cultural issues.

  • You also can choose from a curriculum including anthropology, history, psychology, and economics classes.

  • You are encouraged to pursue one of Widener’s many opportunities to study abroad in Europe, South America, Mexico, and China.

  • Internship opportunities are also available to you in locations both domestic and international.

You can get a head start on law school by pursuing the pre-law major for international relations majors.

We invite you to visit campus and meet with our faculty and students to discuss the global opportunities offered by the international relations major at Widener.
