Pi Gamma Mu (International Social Science Honor Society)

Psychology Club
The Psychology Club at Widener University was established in 1990. Its mission is to provide an interaction between students, faculty and professionals interested in the field of Psychology. All undergraduate students with an interest in Psychology are welcome and eligible to become members.

Activities include lectures from faculty on research in psychology and the admission process for graduate school. Field trips to points of interest will also be scheduled. Activities with Psi Chi, the Psychology Honor Society, will be coordinated.

Psi Chi - The National Honor Society in Psychology

Chartered at Widener during the 1996-1997 academic year, the purpose of Psi Chi shall be to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.

The faculty advisor to Psi Chi is Dr. David Fendrich.

Psi Chi Membership Requirements

  • Completion of at least three psychology courses.
  • Completion of at least three semesters of college courses.
  • Registration for a major or minor in psychology.
  • An overall GPS of 3.0 or higher (rank in upper 35% of class).
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher in Psychology.
  • For graduate students, an average grade of "b" or better in all graduate courses, including psychology.
  • High standards of personal behavior.
  • Two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at at a regular meetings of the chapter.
