Why study hospitality management at Widener University?
  • Widener’s hospitality management program ranks in the top 20 in the United States by the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education.
  • Within several months following graduation, almost 100 percent of our graduating seniors are employed in the hospitality industry on a full-time basis. Many also enroll in our master’s program in hospitality management.
  • The School of Hospitality Management provides you with the hands-on experience that you need for success in the field. The curriculum combines a rigorous academic program with a minimum of 1,400 hours of paid industry experience. This consists of two summer internships in hospitality management jobs and a unique 15-week cooperative education semester that combines leadership development seminars with work experience.
  • Many students have taken advantage of the school’s Global Leadership Program, through which students study abroad and participate in the International Visitors’ Leadership Program, a program run in Philadelphia in conjunction with the U.S. Department of State. All students in the program also participate in a community service project.
  • Travel plays an important role in achieving success in the field of hospitality management. Our students gain international study abroad experience, as well as the opportunity to travel throughout the United States for industry conferences. For example, 16 students from the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)Widener Chapter attended the national conference in Toronto.

Two students were awarded the association's most prestigious scholarships, and the Widener chapter was recognized as Chapter of the Year. In addition, student members of the Widener Chapter of the Club Managers Association of America traveled to the annual student conference in Chicago where they explored management issues and career opportunities.

If you want a top-notch degree and significant experience in the field of hospitality management, Widener University has the program for you.
