Dual Degrees

"Im going back to Jamaica to start a rape recovery and prevention program."

If you want to enter the field of clinical sexology, but do not already have a clinical degree, consider one of our dual degree options. These programs enable you to earn a clinical, licensable degree in social work, psychology or a certification in school counseling.

Human Sexuality and Social Work

Degree programs offered:

  • Master of Education (MEd) in Human Sexuality and Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Sexuality and Master of Social Work (MSW)

Our dual degree programs with the Center for Social Work Education provides you with a clinical, licensable Master of Social Work. For those entering the program with a Bachelor of Social Work, an advanced standing ladder is also available. A majority of students pursuing a dual-degree program with the Center for Social Work Education plan to work as therapists in private practice, in non-profit agencies, and community organizations.

One application can be submitted for both programs.

Human Sexuality and Clinical Psychology

Degree program offered:

  • Master of Education (MEd) in Human Sexuality and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)

The dual degree program with Clinical Psychology offers students a Master of Education (MEd) in Human Sexuality, as well as a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD). Students pursuing the MEd/PsyD plan to work as therapists in private practice, hospitals, and other mental health institutions.

Students must apply separately to both the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program and the Center for Education, although transcripts and GRE scores can be shared.
