Prior to joining Widener University as the Dean of the School of Business Administration,
I have served in various leadership roles such as Director of Honors Program, Director
of Faculty Development, founding Executive Director of Internationalization Office,
and Associate Dean at Dominican University of California. In addition, I bring nearly
25 years of experience in higher education, both at public and private institutions
in India, Canada, and in the United States.
I am a strong advocate of high impact practices such as research with undergraduate and graduate students, internships and professional development of students, and service learning. My teaching areas include cross-cultural management, business environment in Asia, global issues, and business communication. My research interests are in the areas of economic development, health issues in Africa and Asia, and SMEs. To this end, I have led students in a collaborative project in South Africa and short-term international trips designed to increase cultural awareness.
Furthermore, I have served on the Board of Directors of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and the Governmental Affairs and Women of Industry Committees of the Chamber. Currently, I am a member of AACSB Affinity groups, which include Women Administrators in Management Education (WAME) and Small College Network. Additionally, I have served on the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR) as a Councilor as well as on the Small Colleges Committee of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). In August 2015, I participated in the White House Convening of Business School Deans and the Business Community on Expanding Opportunities for Women in Business. The meeting focused on the role of business schools in preparing for a diverse workforce and building a pipeline of business leaders.
