My primary research interest is in student learning. My dissertation research was on conceptual understanding in learning medication calculations. I am also interested in fostering student engagement in and out of the classroom in order to attain conceptual understanding. Other areas of interest related to conceptual understanding include confusion and problem solving. I am also interested in pediatric topics such as childhood obesity and children living with diabetes.
