My Widener Experience
why did you decide to return to school and pursue a degree in professional and applied
It gave me relevant job skills that immediately enhanced my professional career. The flexibility of class format, schedule, and the ability to attend throughout the year made Widener an easy decision.
who was your favorite professor at widener? why?
Art Jones, who taught Math 111, Mathematical Ideas I, was one of my many favorite
instructors. Mr. Jones had a wonderful sense of humor and a tireless dedication to
teaching math systems.
My Professional Experience
how have leadership skills learned at widener helped you succeed?
The leadership skills I learned really taught me the language and skills of working successfully with others in and out of the workplace. I look at problem solving more so from the perspective of others now, which has immeasurable benefits.
what advice would you give a prospective student considering your degree or the extended learning program?
Stay flexible and open to challenges because there are many for returning adult students. Also keep in mind that something learned in every course can be applied to your workplace and life, be it math, art history, or Intro to Sociology. Also take advantage of Saturday studies, if you can.
