HONORS ACTIVITIES
The Honors Program in General Education plans many social activities during the academic year. The Executive (student) Board of the program sets a roster each semester of social events. These activities range widely, and include Chat ‘N Chew dinners with professors, Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments, Movie Nights, and Ice-Cream Socials. In addition, the Executive Board plans off-campus trips, such as visits to Longwood Gardens, College Day on the Parkway in Philadelphia, and Eastern State Penitentiary.
The Mentor Program provides honors students with an immediate support system on campus. Special events organized by the mentors help to ease freshmen into the honors experience. Each incoming freshman in the program is assigned a mentor who helps students with the transition to college life. Whenever possible, mentors come from the student’s own major.
Betsy Mathew (BioChemistry) and Catherine Zalewski (Psychology/Pre-Physical Therapy), pictured here, are two members of the 2007 graduating class in the Honors Program.
