Biography
Dr. Cocchiarale teaches courses in nineteenth- and twentieth-century American literature,
including American Romanticism, Realism and Naturalism, Modernism, and the American
Novel. As codirector of the Creative Writing major, he also teaches fiction writing,
playwriting, as well as a variety of special topics courses.
Dr. Cocchiarale’s research interests include the short story cycle and sports literature.
He is the coeditor of Upon Further Review: Sports in American Literature (Praeger,
2004).
