Widener's School of Business Administration holds accreditation from the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), the premier accrediting body for business education. Our experienced and accomplished faculty members emphasize real-world learning and not just textbooks, offering many opportunities for internships and cooperative education programs to help you get a jump-start on your career. Within several months following graduation, an overwhelming majority of our graduating seniors are employed as business professionals on a full-time basis.
All business majors include a core series of courses consisting of economics, accounting, statistics, law, management information systems, finance, international business, operations management, management theory, marketing, and management policy. In addition, students may pursue specialized concentrations to help earn professional certification credentials.
The school encourages you to undertake independent study programs, special projects, and to participate in Widener's SBA Honors Program. You also can choose to study a semester abroad, and to enroll in specialized graduate courses in your senior year, as well as undertake an accelerated study track to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in only five years. Scholarships are available for select students, and you have the opportunity to participate in a number of business-related student groups.
There are options available for qualified students to complete their bachelor’s degrees in three years by registering for extra credits in most semesters and or summers. This option is open to all majors. Those students who are interested in pursuing this option must speak to their freshmen advisor during their first semester to investigate the feasibility and to prepare a plan for the forthcoming semesters. This option is not recommended for those students who are planning to participate in the co-op program.
