Nancy Maffia joined Continuing Studies as a part time academic advisor at the Exton campus when it opened in 2004, and became a full-time advisor in 2007. Nancy divides her time between the Main, Delaware, and Exton campuses.

Before Widener, her work experience included curatorial positions at the University of Florida Herbarium and the L.H. Bailey Hortorium at Cornell University; as an Assistant Editor at Rodale Press; and as a freelance writer, editor and proofreader.

Nancy Maffia received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Elmira College and her M.S. from the University of Kentucky in Horticulture and Communications.
