Dr. Flynn has been at Widener University since 2010. He previously worked for 19 years in community college administration. Dr. Flynn has developed numerous new degree programs, has overseen several re-accreditation efforts at both the program level and the institutional level, and has experience with the national Achieving the Dream program initiative which is geared toward increasing student success. He has hired over 100 faculty members, deans, and community college administrators during his career. Dr. Flynn also has experience in the implementation of a statewide articulation process between community colleges and a state system of higher education. He has authored several books (one currently under contract for a 4th edition), made several presentations on student success, and consulted on numerous legal cases involving phlebotomy.
Dr. Flynn began his career as a medical technologist and continues to serve as an expert witness in the area of medical lab technology/phlebotomy.
Dr. Flynn's education background includes a B.S. in Medical Technology from Bloomsburg University, and M.S. in Medical Technology from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University) and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
