Online, Accelerated Master’s Programs in Education
The advantage of the Widener online program is that it culminates in a master of education degree from a Pennsylvania university with an "on the ground" campus. This is very important in terms of long-term advancement as many school boards do not recognize or are very wary of entirely online schools. The advantage for students is the online environment fits well into their work schedule and allows them to complete class work when it is convenient to them.
We use the same highly qualified instructors for our online program as we do for our on-campus classes, all of whom have terminal degrees in their area of expertise and years of experience.
Online Master’s Programs
The Center for Education has implemented three online master of education programs.
- Educational Foundations (see online curriculum)
- Instructional Technology (see online curriculum)
- Allied Health Education (see online curriculum)
These programs are designed for students who wish to earn the master's degree without having to commute to campus. The programs can be completed in as little as 15 months or extended across several years.
How to Apply
To facilitate entrance into the program, the Center for Education will waive its normal admission requirements of the writing sample for qualified students who have an acceptable undergraduate GPA.
