My Widener Experience
Why did you decide to major in electrical engineering?
I was interested in electric and electronics since I was a child. Before college, I designed and installed many audio systems in the area. I chose electrical engineering as a major so I could continue to learn skills to successfully create new technology solutions. For me, solving problems is fun, and engineering provides the framework for success.
What clubs or organizations were you involved in that made a memorable impression?
I was general manager of WDNR. This gave me the opportunity to lead a 75-member organization while completely renovating the facilities. At the end of my senior year, I designed and supervised construction for the Student Media Complex in Howell Hall.
My Professional Experience
How has widener prepared you for life after college?
Widener helped me learn how to learn. As an engineer, it is not as important to know the answer right away as it is to know how to find the answer. The leadership opportunities at Widener prepared me to work well with others and lead teams toward a common goal.
What advice would you give a prospective student considering your major?
Engineering is challenging but rewarding. Chances are everything around you was influenced by an engineer, including the device you are using now to read this. If you enjoy solving problems and creating new solutions, an engineering degree will prepare you to make an impact in your career.
