Accelerated Graduate Options, Nursing
The Widener School of Nursing can put you on the fast track to reaching the pinnacle of nursing education.
RN to MSN
Registered nurses holding a bachelor’s degree in another field of study are eligible to apply to the master of science in nursing (MSN) program. Registered nurse applicants must hold a license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
MSN to PhD
The accelerated master of science in nursing/doctor of philosophy (MSN to PhD) prepares nurses for advanced practice and educational leadership roles at a quicker pace than the separate degree programs. Traditionally, both programs would take about nine years. The average accelerated MSN to PhD student obtains both degrees in six years.
Graduates will provide leadership as practitioners, educators, and scholars in support of evidence-based practice for nursing, health care, and education.
