Executive Nurse Leadership
The executive nurse leadership master's degree program prepares nurses to be leaders in health care and in health system settings. Graduates will be prepared to lead as nurse executives at organizational and systems levels. The focus of the concentration is on improving health outcomes for patients and populations through the leadership of effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered health care delivery models using ethical and relation-based business practices. Students will take courses in both the School of Nursing and School of Business Administration.
Graduates wishing to obtain a master of business administration after completing the program will be able to transfer the 9 business credits completed in the concentration toward the MBA and will be prepared to become certified in executive nursing practice through the American Organization of Nurse Executives after 2 years of executive nurse experience.
