FAQs, MSBPI

What is business process innovation?

Business process innovation is a creative approach to business process management (BPM). BPM has evolved into a management discipline that treats business processes as assets to be designed, utilized, and valued. It is a structured approach employing methods, policies, metrics, management practices, and software tools to manage and continuously optimize activities and processes with the goals of improving agility and operational performance. An organization that is process-centric focuses on integrating strategy, structure, culture, governance, people, information technology, and data and information in an effort to achieve those goals.

How can I apply?

Visit the Graduate Admissions page. There are no application fees.

When are the application deadlines?

We have rolling admissions for both the on-campus and online program, so there is not a set date. Your application must be completed in time to be processed for your desired semester. You may enter the program in any semester.

What are the admission requirements?

Admission to the program may be granted following an evaluation of the application file. Factors affecting the decision include, but are not limited to, previous academic performance, test scores, recommendations, and work history.

The minimum undergraduate GPA required for admission is 2.7. The minimum GMAT score required for admission is 450. GRE scores are accepted and converted to equivalent GMAT scores. A composite score is calculated for students whose GPA is less than 2.7 or GMAT score is less than 450. The formula for calculating the composite score is 200*GPA + GMAT ≥ 990.

The GMAT may be waived for

  • Applicants with five years of relevant work experience after graduation from a bachelor’s program; proof of experience must be submitted
  • Applicants who hold a master’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution
  • Applicants who graduated from an accredited U.S. institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Applicants who completed a related certificate and have earned at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA

What are admission requirements for international students?

In addition to the above requirements, a minimum IBT TOEFL score of 95 must be documented. There are also other requirements; please go to the International Graduate Admissions page for more information.

How much does the program cost?

Please visit Graduate Tuition & Fees. (Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.)

Is there financial aid available for part-time students?

YES! You may contact Diane M. Pelli, Associate Director, Student Financial Services, Graduate Programs by phone at 610-499-4161 or by e-mail at finaidmc@widener.edu.
