My Widener Experience
why did you decide to major in accounting?
I have a passion for the profession and truly believe that through our work in accounting, we can contribute to society in a positive way.
what is your favorite memory of widener?
All four years were memorable, however, serving as President for the Day my senior year was something I will never forget. I was able to see the university through a different lens and it brought my appreciation for Widener to a whole new level. The university is truly dedicated to their students and provides them with the resources needed to fulfill their goals.
My Professional Experience
how has widener prepared you for life after college?
Widener has taught me something I like to call supportive independence. Widener allowed me to grow as a young professional by receiving opportunities to attend and speak at conferences and ceremonies on my own. The support I received from my professors and classmates truly prepared me and gave me the confidence to grow.
As a professional, everyone is given challenging tasks to complete. Widener has instilled upon me a mindset to think critically and use resources to solve important problems.
what advice would you give a prospective student considering your major?
Take advantage of the resources you are provided in this program. Get to know the professors. They have a wealth of knowledge and are always there for you. Get involved with the many clubs we have within the School of Business. They provide great opportunities to meet employers and build your network.
