My Widener Experience
why did you decide to major in accounting?
I thoroughly enjoyed my business classes in high school and thought that the accountants maintained the fiscal responsibilities at every company. It piqued my interest, so I decided to pursue accounting as a major. It was my dream since I was 14.
who was your favorite professor at widener? why?
Professor Lordi was my advisor and favorite professor at Widener. I liked the way he challenged the class every session by calling on everyone and not just the ones paying attention. He really tried to engage the students in learning. I model my work style after his.
My Professional Experience
how have leadership skills learned at widener helped you to succeed?
Being a leader is something that helped propel me in my career. I learned that if you want to make a difference, you need to apply yourself to make the changes that matter. You cannot sit back and ride the wave. You need to tackle it head on.
what advice would you give a prospective student considering your major?
Pursue a major in something that interests you, not just something that you think will make you rich. Find a job you love, and you will never "work" a day in your life.
