Student Sport Network
The Student Sport Network is a student organization dedicated to building relationships and fostering networking opportunities between Widener students and experts in today’s sport industry. As the name suggests, this club is all about networking. Members interact with sport professionals, visit their respective job sites, and plan networking events with them on campus. These interactions give members opportunities to gain field experience and insight into the world of sport management.
The Student Sport Network also focuses on leadership development and community involvement—true hallmarks of a Widener education. Members often participate in community service activities centered on their common interest—sports.
One main initiative of the Student Sport Network is the organization of the Sport Management Speaker Series, a biannual event that brings professionals to campus for a focused panel on a hot topic in the sports industry. This event is free and open to the community. Members also regularly work with Widener’s Division III sports teams and for other area teams on game days.
The idea of the network is to give our students a platform to demonstrate ambition, grow as leaders, and make important connections in their field so that they can stand out from their peers in this competitive job market.
