Center for Education School Partnerships
Widener’s Center for Education has numerous partnerships with local schools and school districts to provide opportunities for our students to teach, tutor, mentor, and collaborate with K–12 students in the local school settings.
These dynamic relationships help match students into schools that meet their direct career goals, whether their mission is to become an elementary school teacher or a superintendent.
Widener Partnership Charter School
Widener Partnership Charter (WPCS) challenges students to become self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners. The K–8 school aims to educate its students to become citizens of character who can contribute to the vitality and well being of the region.
Chester-Upland School District
Widener students work with the Chester-Upland School District to develop rigorous academic programs to supplement the K–12 educational experience. Students at Stetser Elementary engage actively with Widener candidates to design lessons, interview families, and develop exhibits and interactive activities that lead to solving community issues.
Widener Child Development Center
The Widener Child Development Center (CDC) has unique preschool, transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten programs. The Center focuses on the development of cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and individual creativity of area youth.
Bonner Prendie High School
In addition to working with Bonner Prendie students during the school year, our Widener candidates work with Bonner freshmen in the summer as they transition from middle school to high school.
Interboro School District
The Widener-Interboro partnership goes beyond just working with teachers in the classroom. Our partnership includes workshops for counselors, student help at special events for the Interboro Kindergarten Academy, tutoring students, and providing afterschool activities and mentorships.
Ridley School District
Ridley School District has many Widener graduates as administrators and teachers. Widener’s partnership with Ridley is long and highlighted by student visits to Widener’s campus, professional development at the schools, and numerous student–teaching experiences.
