My Widener Experience
why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree in educational foundations at widener?
I decided to pursue the master of education degree for two reasons. First, since my undergraduate degree is in business administration, I thought the educational foundations major would give me the opportunity to explore a variety of course offerings within the Center for Education. Secondly, given the fact that I had a full time job, a family, and other outside commitments, I found the ability to complete this degree in one year, and also completely online especially accommodating.
what made you choose widener?
Having first started working at Widener in 2010, it became evident to me very early on that I wanted to pursue a graduate degree for personal and professional reasons. Widener was an excellent choice due to its long standing reputation of excellence in higher education.
My Professional Experience
what advice would you give a prospective student considering your graduate program?
My advice for prospective students considering the educational foundations program would be to explore your options. Although this is a one-year program, it does not need to be completed in that time frame. This program gives you the flexibility to take one or more classes at a time depending on your work and/or family obligations.
what do you like most about your current position?
My current position as registrar has afforded me the opportunity to work with students, faculty, and staff across the university. As a parent with two children, I find it fulfilling to play an integral part as students begin their journey at Widener. The most rewarding part is preparing, planning, and handing the students their diplomas as they walk across the platform on commencement day.
