Experiential Learning

Widener University offers a supportive environment with small class sizes and high levels of individual attention from well-qualified and respected faculty who help construct a foundation for career enrichment and success in the field of literacy education. Concurrently, graduate students work closely with area children during coursework culminating with the summer reading practicum, facilitating language development, and literacy success.

Flexible and Accommodating Program Delivery

In the reading education master's program, courses are offered in a flexible format designed specifically for working educators. To accommodate professional working schedules, students can attend the program either part-time or full-time. We also offer online and hybrid course instruction. Our graduate students can easily fit this program into their professional schedules as evening courses are held once per week.

However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P–12 educators for professional development, relicensure, or other purposes.
