Events, Human Sexuality Studies
Students in the Center for Human Sexuality Studies (CHSS) have the opportunity to engage with peers, faculty, and professionals in their areas of study through annual center events. These events provide additional learning beyond the classroom as well as networking opportunities with sexuality professionals from around the region and the world.
Careers in Sexuality Conference
The Careers in Sexuality Conference is a student-run conference that offers insight into a variety of careers within the human sexuality field through workshops that cater to participants with educational, clinical, and/or generalist perspectives. Widener CHSS students have the opportunity to develop specific career skill sets and to see the vast career options available to them upon their degree completion.
Each year, CHSS holds an event at homecoming to honor alumni, which simultaneously provides opportunities for current students to engage with professionals working in the field. A student or young alumnus is also awarded for original research in human sexuality.
Sexuality and Aging Conference
Organized by the Sexuality and Aging Consortium at Widener University, the Sexuality and Aging Conference is a two-day conference that addresses a range of topics all related to sexuality, intimacy, and aging in a variety of formats, including interactive and educational workshops, a keynote address from a leader in the field, and a student research poster session. This event brings together students and professionals who share a common interest in serving the growing aging population.
