My Widener Experience
why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy?
Being a physical therapist has one of the highest job satisfaction ratings in the nation based on findings from the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). Physical therapists have a choice of a wide range of locations and work setting such as hospitals, home health, nursing homes and outpatient. My desire has been to be in the medical field because I enjoy learning about the human body and helping patients. It is a great feeling of personal satisfaction to assist others with achieving their goals and to give them the ability to return to their normal life. Physical therapists promote the patients' ability to move and make a huge impact in their lives
what made you choose widener?
The good reputation and friendly, helpful faculty. Widener was the only local college that assisted me and provided me with helpful information about getting into graduate school.
My Professional Experience
what advice would you give a prospective student considering widener's dpt program?
Graduate school is not something to take lightly. It is your life, your money, and most importantly, your future. Do not just pick a graduate program because of what someone else thinks; pick the program because this is what you are seeking. It involves a major investment personally, intellectually, emotionally, and financially. Physical therapy is a big commitment and requires hard work. However, the experience is well worth it. Also, time management is key.
how has widener prepared you for life after college?
Besides the professional skills that I gained, as a person who came from overseas, Widener assisted me in understanding the American culture, especially in health care.
