Is the Post-Graduate Center approved to provide continuing education credits and who is eligible for these credits?
Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology is approved by the American Psychological Association (750 First Street NE, Washington, DC 20002, 202-336-5979) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
Licensed psychologists will be provided with a certificate as per APA standards at the completion of each workshop. Social workers may submit information from each event to their licensing board as well.
What is the attendance and tardiness policy at workshops?
The APA Standards and Criteria for Approval of Sponsors of Continuing Education for Psychologists (February, 2009) states,“Variable credit for partial attendance may not be awarded…Full attendance is required for all CE activities, and sponsors must have a method for ensuring full attendance (e.g., sign-in/sign-out sheets, room monitors). The Sponsor Approval System is aware that individuals will, on occasion, arrive late or leave early from a CE program. Sponsors should, within reason, evaluate each situation on a case-by-case basis when considering full attendance and the awarding of credit.”
