From the day a student enrolls at Widener University, Career Services is the one-stop destination for learning-based career exploration and professional development. Operating from a strengths-based philosophy, we guide students through a deep process of inquiry and hands-on skills cultivation, providing them with the lifelong ability to connect their passions with work that is both meaningful and economically sustaining. Reflecting the University’s central missions of civic engagement and leadership, we empower students to become the leaders of their own destinies.
We in Career Services take Widener Pride in our approach to providing support that is both individually tailored and consistent with recognized best practices in career development and advisement. Our team of professional counselors, cooperative education advisors, and employer specialists stands ready to assist and support students through such vehicles as:
- one-on-one counseling sessions
- walk-in hours
- skills workshops
- classroom presentations
- employer panels
- general and specialized career fairs
Career Services also administers with pride the University’s acclaimed cooperative education program in partnership with the School of Business Administration, the School of Engineering, the Department of Computer Science, and the School of Hospitality Management. We invite Widener students and their parents, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as our employer partners to use this website as an extension of these services, a place to find online job and internship postings, useful resources, event updates, and career inspiration 24/7.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon – and often.
Jan Moppert, Director of Career Services
We encourage you to use Pride CAREERS, a database of internships and full-time positions. We also partner with local and national employers to bring a variety of opportunities to campus.
