Widener's signature Co-op Program is a great way for eligible students to gain valuable work experience prior to graduation.
What is Co-op (Cooperative Education)?
The co-op program, facilitated by the Career Services Office, is open to students within the School of Business Administration, the School of Engineering, and juniors in the Department of Computer Science. Through this flexible, supportive program, eligible students can gain up to one full year of compensated work experience throughout their studies and still graduate within four years.
With a track record of more than 30 years, the co-op program has developed a wide network of employer relationships across the Philadelphia region. The Career Services team stands ready to guide students through every step of the position/opportunity-seeking process, from professional development workshops and resume and cover letter preparation to practice interviews. Our philosophy is one of partnership—we empower students to take an active role in targeting, seeking, and securing the best-fit co-op placements.
Who is Co-op for?
The program is available to students in the School of Business Administration and School of Engineering, as well as juniors in the Department of Computer Science. In addition, the Center for Hospitality Management administers its own co-operative education program.
