Counseling Center

Widener University offers several resources and services to help students achieve academic success.

The purpose of the counseling center is to provide Widener University students access to counseling, psychotherapy, education, assessment, and psychiatric services. We support the quality of campus life via collaboration and consultation with academic, residential, and service programs of the university.

Our goal is to help students achieve greater self-awareness and understanding, improve relationships with family, friends, co-workers, and significant others, and attain independence and self-reliance.

To schedule an appointment, call 610-499-1261 or visit the Widener University Counseling Center at 301 E. 19th. Street (at the corner of Walnut  and 19th Streets).  During the academic year, the Center is open from 9am – 5pm.  The Counseling Center is closed from the end of June through to the end of August.

If a mental health emergency should occur outside of the Center’s operating hours,  resident housing students should contact an RA or AC on duty or dial Campus Safety at 610-499-4200.  Non-resident students of Widener University and graduate students should contact the nearest crisis center or hospital emergency room (Crozer Chester Hospital in Chester is the nearest to Campus) or dial #911.
