Widener Events

We invite you to attend one or more of the numerous campus events that take place at Widener University throughout the year. We wanted to share some of them with you. Below please find a list of the events currently available.

We also welcome the opportunity to talk with you on a one-to-one basis during an individual campus visit. If you are interested in a campus visit, please click here.

Careers in Education and Social Work    11/10/2009   10:00 AM
Widener University's School of Human Service Professions offers you a one-day workshop/visit for students interested in a career in education and social work. Participants will have an opportunity to observe firsthand the training, field experiences, and professional placements available to future teachers and social workers.

  • Visit to Widener's Child Development Center (Education)
  • Visit to Widener's Social Work Consultation Service (Social Work)
  • Attend classes with Education and Social Work students
  • Meet faculty in the School of Human Service Professions
  • Attend a lunch with current Education and Social Work students and faculty members

    You will receive a confirmation email for the workshop 48 hours prior to the event with driving directions

    Registration will begin at 9:30am in Room B of the University Center on Widener's main campus.

    Financial Literacy Workshop    11/13/2009   8:00 AM

    Education Aspiring Leaders Financial Literacy Workshop

    Join us from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on November 13th to learn from the School of Business Administration faculty how to:

  • Avoid credit card debt
  • Manage your money
  • Save for the future

    • This event is FREE and you will meet our faculty as you enjoy lunch.

    Widener Day Fall Open House    11/14/2009   9:00 AM

    Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the Widener Day Open House program is designed for traditional college-bound students who will be graduating from high school, or have recently graduated high school, and desire to attend daytime undergraduate classes.

    Take advantage of a Widener Day to tour the campus with a student tour guide, learn about financial aid and academic opportunities, and to sample a slice of life at Widener.

    Group sessions will be held for each area of academic interest, to give prospective students a chance to ask questions about degree programs they are considering.
