Counselor Evaluation Form – An optional form for school counselors to complete as part of the application process and be included with a student’s official high school transcripts. 

Virtual Advisor – A great tool for unanswered questions about Widener!  The
Virtual Advisor is available 24 hours a day/7days a week to provide speedy answers to your questions.
 
School Counselor Site Access – School counselors can request access to view which students from your school have applied to Widener. If you already have access you may LOG IN

Personalize the Website – The personalization feature provides you and students the
ability to follow the admissions process and keep track of required steps and documents. 
You can check a student's decision status, review the materials needed

Student Applicant Admissions Status– Students who have applied to Widener can
check their application status.  A student can click on the link and enter the required
information and receive the status of the application.

Widener Fast Facts 

Widener is a leading metropolitan university located approximately 20 minutes
Southwest of center city Philadelphia on a 110 acre campus.  We provide a unique
combination of liberal arts and professional education.   

Widener has more than 60 majors and 100 programs of study for undergraduate
students.  Our current enrollment is 2500 undergraduate students.  The average class
size is 25 students and we have a student to faculty ratio of 12:1. 

There is a strong focus on experiential learning by providing students with various
hands-on learning opportunities such as internships, undergraduate research,
community service,  cooperative education programs, practicum for nursing majors,
field experience for education majors, and study abroad programs

Other programs that Widener provides include the Honors Program in general education, and pre-professional and accelerated programs in pre-med, pre-health service professions, pre-law, and pre-physical therapy, as well as an Exploratory Studies Program for those students who are undecided. 

Students can become involved in other areas of college outside of academics and experience personal and intellectual growth through our vibrant Student Life with over 80 student organizations and clubs and 20 Division III NCAA Athletics with state of the art athletic and cultural facilities. 

Student services at Widener University include the Career Advising and Planning Center (CAPS), which provides various resources and guidance to students in all facets of career development. Another important service is the Academic Support Program, which consists of the tutoring center, math and writing centers, academic coaching, service for students with disabilities, and the Counseling Center.  


Admissions Overview

Prospective student must have a high school diploma, or a GED or the equivalent, or are beyond the age of compulsory high school attendance in the state of Pennsylvania or Delaware. Along with this a student may not be concurrently enrolled in an elementary or secondary institution.

Decisions will be based on high school grades, strength of coursework, class rank, SAT (Critical Reading and Math) or ACT scores, extra- and co-curricular activities, and community service. 

Widener University operates on a rolling admissions policy.  Once a student has a completed application file they will hear a decision within 3-6 weeks. 

Our online application is FREE! It only takes a few minutes to apply. 

The average incoming student GPA is 3.30 and the average SAT of a combined Math and Critical Reading is a 1030.

Re-admissions Procedure:
Those students who have been academically dismissed from Widener University must also complete the online application form.  For more information please click here.

Re-enrollment Procedure: 
Students who have not maintained consecutive semester enrollment at Widener University should contact Enrollment Services at Lipka Hall for more information on how to re-enroll at Widener.
