International Students

As an international student you, literally, have the entire world open to you for your university studies.  So, why should you come to Widener?  Here are a few reasons why Widener is a great place to study, live, and experience the U.S. according to our current international students:

Widener is a great school.  The class sizes are small so you can really interact with your instructors.  All of the professors here are outstanding, they provide an excellent environment for studying.  The students here are nice, the campus is very close to Center City(Philadelphia)…Widener is really a brilliant school, and it becomes better and better all the time.  There is a co-op program at Widener.  I can gain real work experience and make money to help cover my tuition – and I still graduate in four years!  Honestly, I didn’t know much about Widener when I applied to the school, but after I came, I found everything here is just brilliant.  Now I am happy because I made the right choice.”
-Shi Yang Song
 Shenyang, China
Electrical Engineering & Physics Double Major

If I were talking to a friend back home, and they asked, ‘Why should I come to Widener?’ I would tell my friend that the faculty and the staff are really friendly.  Also, they try as much as they can to help the students to make their studies more flexible, particularly for international students.  I chose Widener because it is a good university with friendly people – I saw that my friends were really happy here.  The professors and the staff always respect every student.”
-Jamal Al Qahtani

They give scholarships!  Widener is not a big university, there are no large classes, and it is easier to focus and get help from professors.”
-Tam Lieu
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Double Major

The thing I like about Widener is the availability of tutoring.  I was confused about some coursework in the beginning of the semester, but the tutor helped me a lot.  Also, International Student Services (ISS) is our second family, they help us with any problems we face in America.”
-Mashari Alkhaldi
