NURSING TRANSFER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
* The School of Nursing is no longer accepting transfer applications for the Fall 2008 semester.
* The School of Nursing and the Office of Admissions will collaboratively review the Spring 2009 transfer applications beginning in early October 2008. Communication will be sent to the applicants in the mail as soon as a decision is made.

Yes, you may choose to complete the BSN program as a part-time student. Once you have been admitted, your Widener Nursing advisor will discuss with you the selection process of courses.
Yes, you may choose to take evening, weekend, or daytime classes. Once you have been admitted, your Widener Nursing advisor will discuss with you the selection process of courses. However, you will not be able to complete the entire program by taking only evening and/or weekend classes. There will be a significant amount of required classes that are only offered in the daytime.
Admission decisions are based on a student’s cumulative grade point average. We do not require specific courses to be completed before being offered admission.
A 3.0 cumulative grade point average is required in order for your application to be considered for admission. This grade point average does not guarantee admission. Students with the strongest grade point averages will be offered admission to fill the limited enrollment spaces available

Applications are reviewed on a semester by semester basis. Review of fall semester transfer applications will begin early in the preceding spring semester. Review of spring semester applications will begin early in the preceding fall semester. It is the student’s responsibility to have all application materials submitted to the Office of Admissions. Be sure to make arrangements to have your official transcript(s) submitted
Decisions will be made as quickly as possible. Consultation between the Nursing department and Admissions will take place before any decisions are made. Enrollment spaces are constantly being monitored. Admissions decisions will be sent in the mail. We ask for your patience in this process.
Once you have been admitted, we will instruct you to contact your Nursing advisor. At that time, your Nursing advisor will discuss your progression through the program.
Entrance to the junior level clinical courses occurs only once a year in the fall semester. A student must be enrolled at Widener a minimum of one semester prior to progressing to clinical.
