Please be advised that the Accelerated Nursing program is no longer accepting applications for admission for the Fall 2018 program start. All applications submitted by the March 1st deadline will be reviewed for admission consideration for the Fall 2018 program start.
Applicants interested in applying for the Fall 2019 program start will be able to submit an application later this fall. Please refer to the website at a later time for updates.

Get all of your answers about the admissions process and transferring to Widener University. Make sure you submitted your Widener application beforehand -- it’s free of charge! Bring in all your previously attended post-secondary institution transcripts for evaluation and receive an instant decision on your admission. Please note that this event does not apply to the accelerated nursing program.
The program includes:
- 10:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Admissions Presentation: Meet with an admissions representative to learn about the admissions process.
- 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Campus Tour: Take a tour of our beautiful Main Campus with one of our current students.
- 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. Decision Talk: Receive your admission decision and learn if you are eligible for a merit scholarship
All transfer students, except second degree candidates and part-time students, are reviewed for merit scholarships. A minimum of 12 transferable credits are required for scholarship consideration. Awards are based on a student's cumulative grade point average and major.
The scholarship amounts range from $10,000 – $20,000 per year.
*Beginning for Fall 2016 applicants, members of Phi Theta Kappa honor society at the community college level will receive an additional $1,000 scholarship. Please submit a copy of your certificate with your application.
A transfer credit evaluation will be completed at the time of admission and sent to applicants via postal mail. However, we expect you to complete 50 percent of the courses in your major at Widener. You can transfer up to a maximum of 64 credits (a grade of C or higher is required). You may also view our unofficial database of transfer course equivalencies.

If your cumulative GPA is 2.0 (cumulative GPA of 3.0 for nursing, cumulative GPA of 2.5 for engineering), and you’re in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing, please apply for admission.
To be admitted to the School of Engineering as a transfer, a student must have the following:
- A 2.50 cumulative grade point average from all post-secondary institutions attended
- A grade of “C” or higher in Calculus I
- A grade of “C” or higher in one of the following required sciences in the Engineering
curriculum: General Chemistry I, Physics I, or Biology (for Bio-medical Engineering
If the student is in progress for Calculus I and/or the science requirement at the time of application, he/she may still be admitted but will be required to show successful completion (“C” or higher) before matriculation.
Although we operate on rolling admissions, we suggest that you get your applications to us by:
- August 1 (if applying for fall admission).
Review of fall semester applications will take place from January through August.
- December 1 (if applying for spring admission).
Review of spring semester applications will take place from September through December.
A decision is mailed within three weeks after the application is complete. We look forward to having you live and learn on our campus.
