Public Officials

Widener University is represented by multiple local, county, state, and federal officials at its four campuses located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of Delaware.

Chester Campus

At the Federal level, Widener is located in the 1st Congressional District of Pennsylvania and is served by U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R), U.S. Senator Robert Casey (D), and Congressman Robert Brady (D-1).  Widener also works closely with Congressman Joseph Sestak (D-7) and Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8).

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our elected representatives are Governor Edward G. Rendell (D), State Senator and Majority Leader Dominic F. Pileggi (R-9), and State Representative Thaddeus Kirkland (D-159).

In Delaware County, Pennsylvania, our elected officials are Chairman Andrew J. Reilly, Vice Chairperson Linda A. Cartisano, Councilperson Mary Alice Brennan, Councilperson Michael V. Puppio Jr., and Councilperson John J. Whelan.

In the City of Chester, our elected officials are Mayor Wendell Butler, Councilperson Monir Z. Ahmed, Councilperson Marrea Walker-Smith, Councilperson Walter Miles Jr., Councilperson Willie Wells, and Controller Dalinda Carrero-Papi.

Harrisburg Campus

At the Federal level, the Widener School of Law is located in the 17th Congressional District of Pennsylvania and is served by U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R), U.S. Senator Robert Casey (D), and Congressman Timothy Holden (D-17).

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our elected representatives are Governor Edward G. Rendell (D), State Senator Jeffrey E. Piccola (R-15), and State Representative Susan C. Helm (R-104).

In Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, our elected Commissioners are The Honorable Jeffrey T. Haste (R), Dominic “Nick” DiFrancesco II (R), and George P. Hartwick III (D).

Exton Campus

At the Federal level, Widener is located in the 6th Congressional District of Pennsylvania and is served by U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R), U.S. Senator Robert Casey (D), and Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-6). 

In Chester County, Pennsylvania, our elected officials are Commissioners Carol Aichele (R), Donald A. Mancini (R), and Patrick C. O’Donnell (D).

Delaware Campus

At the Federal Level, the Widener School of Law is represented by U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D), U.S. Senator Thomas R. Carper (D), and Congressman Michael N. Castle (R-At Large).

In the State of Delaware, our elected representatives are Governor Ruth Ann Minner (D), Lt. Governor John Carney (D), State Senator and Minority Leader Charles L. Copeland (R-4), and State Representative Robert J. Valihura (R-10).

In New Castle County, Widener is served by County Executive Chris Coons (D), Council President Paul G. Clark (D), and Councilperson Robert S. Weiner (R-2).
