Academic Organizations

Work and play don’t always have to be different things.

Through the many academic organizations on campus, students take their coursework out of the classroom and make it fun, engaging, and impactful.Consider the work of Engineers Without Borders, which is building a solar energy plant for villagers in Panama. Or the Society of Food and Wine, which raised money for Relay for Life by hosting a Cake Boss competition in the Marriott Dining Room. Or the Chemistry Club, which hosts a fun but educational Haunted Walk event for local pre-schoolers every Halloween.

There are clubs or national societies for nearly every academic major! Participating with these groups provides opportunities to learn more from faculty members in your academic department outside the classroom. Apply the lessons you learn in class to the campus and local community in some of the active campus groups listed below:

  • Accounting Society
  • American Institute of Chemical Engineers
  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers
  • Astronomy Club
  • Bachelor of Social Work Club
  • Biological Society
  • Chemistry Club
  • English Club
  • French Club
  • Honors Program in General Education
  • National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH)
  • Pre-Law Society
  • Pre-Physical Therapy Club
  • Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)
  • Society of Women Engineers
