Welcome to your home away from home!

Our goal is to complement the academic mission of the university and provide opportunities for learning that extend outside of the classroom. We strive to create a comfortable living environment and design programs that provide opportunities for cultural, recreational, social, and academic growth.

On-Campus Housing

When you live on campus, you get much more than just a place to sleep and meet new people.

Widener's smoke-free, wireless campus has housing to suit a variety of interests and living styles. Our residence halls range from traditional, double-person rooms to apartments, suite-style living arrangements, and small themed houses.

Each area of campus housing is unique and provides various features designed to enhance your experience including: study rooms, lounges, multipurpose rooms, and numerous programming spaces. In addition, campus housing is a short walking distance—15 minutes or less—from academic buildings, faculty offices, the dining hall, our state-of-the-art Pride Recreation Center, and other campus resources.

Our housing policy is designed to support the success of our students. Students who live on campus have been found to have better grades, higher graduation rates, and easier access to campus resources, which enhances their experience. Therefore, ALL freshman, sophomore, and junior full-time undergraduate students must reside on campus unless they qualify for commuter status.

See our FAQs page for more information about our housing policy.

Living Learning Communities

As a freshman, you have the opportunity to live in one of our specialized living learning communities, which offer an amazing alternative to traditional on-campus living arrangements.

We have individual communities for nursing, engineering, business, and honors students, as well as one focused on civic engagement and global leadership.

Dining on Campus

At Widener, you’ll find a variety of dining options, making it easy for students to relax and enjoy meals with friends or grab a quick, healthy bite on the go.

Choose from our affordable meal plans and dining halls;including: the Pride Café, McMorland Food Court, Moe's Southwest Grill, Einstein Brothers Bagels, and our newest location at Uno Pizzeria and Grill.

Socializing on Campus

There's always a variety of programs and activities happening in and around the residence halls.

On any given night, students in Howell might be watching a movie or folks in Moll might be playing trivia games in the lounge. There are times when an entire floor or building might host a workshop on study skills or sponsor a discussion about the latest current events. In one of our themed houses, students might be learning about healthy dining options or personal fitness and wellness tips.
