What happens during Orientation?

Events listed below are subject to change.

Day One - Wednesday, August 21 (Mandatory)

Orientation programs begin after freshman check-in. All new students are requested to attend welcome remarks by President Harris. After families say goodbye, the day continues with fun novelty acts and a brief explanation of university expectations.

Day Two - Thursday, August 22 (Mandatory)

The second day of Fall Orientation focuses on getting adjusted to campus and learning about our University Mission. All students will participate in The Common Freshman Experience. The morning first-year workshops are hosted by C.R.E.W. Leaders and university staff on topics such as service initiatives, the ABC's of Fraternity & Sorority Life, decorating your new room, and making good social decisions. Enjoy your evening with your new friends at the annual first-year graffiti party. The evening includes exciting entertainment and opportunities to get to know your new classmates.

Day Three - Friday, August 23 (Mandatory)

Convocation will begin the day’s events, marking your formal entrance to collegiate life at Widener. Enjoy your evening with friends by participating in Pride Nights.

Day Four- Saturday, August 24 (Optional)

This optional day consists of bus trips to various malls, as well as shuttles to Wal-Mart and Target. During the evening, get competitive with Games Galore in the Wellness Center.

Day Five- Sunday, August 25 (Optional)

Spend day five setting up your new room and preparing for your first day of classes. Upperclassmen move-in during the day. Join the Widener Activities Council for food, fun, and excitement as they kick off the school year with the annual Welcome Back Bash!
