Start with Pride! Pre-Orientation programs get students connected into the Pride before school starts. Each program creates experiences with first year and upper level classmates, faculty, and administrators before school starts. Pre-Orientation students make friends before the formal orientation starts, and resident students move into their room early.

Each program has a theme in which you can pursue your interest. See details about each below and how to register.

Project Lead participants will engage in fun, hands-on leadership development activities, spend a day in Philadelphia learning about the leadership practices of our country’s founders, and serve members of our community at a local nonprofit organization. Throughout the program students will discover or reignite their passions to contribute to our greater community and appreciate the diverse backgrounds, skills, and identities of effective leaders.

The Summit Widener pre-orientation program is a backpacking and canoe trip that makes the transition into the Widener Pride an epic experience. It is a great opportunity for getting to know fellow students and carrying that success into your first day on campus. Summit Widener uses the outdoor setting to make new friends and ease the adjustment to college. Leaders acclimate you to more than the Appalachian Trial and camping out. They will lead you to coming back to campus with new friends, new memories, and a boost of Widener confidence.
