Goals & Itinerary

The 1821 Experience gives participants an opportunity to:

  • Move into residence halls early (residential students)
  • Meet and interact with other incoming and returning students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and discussion panels that address a variety of topics and offer strategies for a successful transition to college life
  • Become familiar with the Chester campus and learn about the available resources for all students
  • Participate in unique group explorations

Day 1
9:00 am - 11:00 am Check-In/Move Into Residence Halls
12:00 pm Opening Luncheon with Students and Families
1:00 pm Family Farewells
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Welcome to The 1821 Experience
Get Acquainted/Icebreaker Activities
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Workshop: College 101/WU 101
Student Panel Discussion
4:00 pm - 5:00pm Workshop: Diversity 101
