Pride Experience III: Spring Orientation

SPRING into the school new year this January!

Spring Orientation, also known as Pride Experience III, is required for incoming freshmen and transfer students starting at Widener during the spring semester.

The program is designed to help you prepare for success at Widener – connecting you with new classmates, helpful resources, and professional staff to ensure a smooth transition to university life.

How do I register and is there a cost?   

All students that will start their academic career at Widener University in January will receive notification from the Office of Admissions to register for and attend Spring Orientation. Students can register by clicking the link above. There is no cost to attend Spring Orientation.

What is the schedule of events?   

Spring Orientation is a full, engaging day of information and will provide time for students to visit important business offices as needed.

How do I schedule my classes for the semester?   

Academic scheduling is not part of the orientation experience. After you have received your admittance letter, we strongly encourage you to schedule an academic advising meeting prior to your orientation session. Please reference your admission packet for advising meeting instructions.

Can my family also attend?   

Yes, parents and family members are able to attend the student sessions. However, please be advised that a special parent orientation session is not available for Spring Orientation in January.

When do I move into my residence hall if I am living on campus?   

New or transfer students that will be starting at Widener University in January and have been assigned to a residence hall will move in on the Sunday immediately before the first day of classes in the spring semester. For detailed move-in information, please contact the Office of Residence Life at 610-499-4390.

What do I need to do to prepare for Spring Orientation?   

• Preview the Spring Orientation schedule. Information is subject to change and a final copy of the schedule will be provided at check-in.
• Obtain your parking permit decal and Campus1Card at Lipka Hall.
• Review your housing assignment and list of items to bring.
•Complete all Student Health Services requirements such as Alcohol EDU and HAVEN assessments, which are emailed to incoming students prior to orientation.

What happens if I miss orientation?    

Students who miss Spring Orientation are encouraged to setup an appointment with the Office of Student Life to review missed materials to ensure a successful start at Widener University. It is important to ensure any employment does not conflict with the orientation schedule, as work conflicts are not a valid excuse for missing orientation.
