Widener Dance Program
Led by distinguished artist Jessica Warchal-King; the dance program incorporates aspects of various dance styles while providing students with a structured rehearsal and performing experience. Students perform each semester. Watch the Widener Dance Concert, Spring 2014.
You don’t have to be an arts major to dance at Widener University. Whether it’s through our dance program or clubs, we offer all students an opportunity to explore the study of movement.
The Dance Program offers students a formal setting for the study of dance. Through the College of Arts and Sciences, students can enroll in courses such as Dance Repertoire and Modern Dance. Taught by adjunct professor Jessica Warchal-King, these classes incorporate aspects of various dance styles while providing students with structured rehearsal and performing experience.
Dance scholarships in the amount of $1,500 are available for students participating in the dance program.
These are based on application.
Students can also participate in the student-run Widener Dance Company (WDC). This group is focused on sharing a love and passion for dance. WDC organizes two campus performances in addition to participating in other student-led shows throughout the academic year. The university also has its own Widener Dance Team.
