Take a break from a routine workout and join one of our many special events!
The Pride Recreation Center hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year. These events provide opportunities for members of the Widener community to come together and participate in something new and different from their regular routine.

Kick off the semester and beginning of club sport/intramural seasons by attending REC-FEST. Participate in a variety of games, win prizes, get free giveaways, and learn more about Widener's intramural and club sports. Interested students can sign up for club sports teams and register for intramural sports leagues during the event.
International Themed Intramurals
Want to try an intramural or event that is popular in a different country? Several events are held throughout the year such as bocce ball, Kinja, handball, and badminton.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
Raise awareness about the serious causes, effects, and remediation to men's sexualized violence against women by "walking a mile in her shoes" around campus.
Cards for Veterans
Design and decorate thank you cards for Veterans within the community or for family members who have served our country.
Themed Group Fitness Classes
Add some flare to your group fitness class routines with our themed classes available throughout the year like outdoor yoga and glow-in-the-dark Zumba.
Off-Site Recreation Trips
Have some fun off campus at a variety of Widener-sponsored trips such as glow bowling, mini-golf, laser tag, paintball, and more.
Rest, relax, and unwind with our a variety of stressbuster events held during final exams week.
NIRSA/PIRSA Off-Site Intramural Tournaments
All-star students have the opportunity to represent Widener at the annual NIRSA flag football regional tournament and PIRSA basketball tournament.
Club Sports Charity Tournaments
Charity events are held throughout the year in support of a variety of causes including Wounded Warrior Project, Susan G. Komen, Prom Dress Rugby, Ronald McDonald house, and more. All club sport teams participate in community service activities.
Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournaments
Students, staff, and faculty show their hands and compete at Texas Hold 'Em for a chance to win from an assortment of prizes.
