Career Services assists your students with career-related questions and concerns that arise as early as the freshman year.
Form a partnership with Career Services by encouraging your son or daughter to visit us early and often in his or her academic career, explore various disciplines that are of interest, discuss career options, and use all of the many services that Career Services has to offer!
A great resource in helping your student is the Career Planning Course for Parents.

Choosing a Major/Choosing a Career
Did you know that Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream was a pre-med major? Or that Charles Kuralt was a history major? Statistically speaking, most individuals will change careers five to seven times during their working life. Is it any wonder that choosing a career is a confusing issue for college students?
CDC provides the following services to help students:

   • An up-to-date Career Information Center 
   • "What Can I Do With A Major In..." series 
   • Career inventories 
   • FOCUS - an on-line career guidance system 
   • Alumni Mentor Program

How do students find such opportunities through Career Services?
Having work experience prior to graduation is no longer a luxury, it's a necessity. Career-related work experience ranks among the top three criteria employers value when hiring college graduates.
