Every student needs time to relax and socialize outside of the classroom.
Commuter and resident students participate in and lead the more than 85 clubs and organizations at the heart of our lively campus community. From service groups to dance troupes, honor societies to club sports, there is a program or activity for everyone.
Widener students proudly contribute service to our local, regional, national and international communities. With programs such as Alternative Spring Break and Profound Service Once a Month, students build homes for families in need across the country and abroad or help local charitable organizations provide resources in the city of Chester. Each fraternity and sorority regularly participates in philanthropic activity and contributes countless hours of service in the community.
Other opportunities to meet students and learn something new include:
- Hosting your own radio show on WDNR-FM or join one of the three other organizations housed in the Student Media Complex with an opportunity to become immersed in a media-rich experience that can prepare for a successful future.
- Hiking, biking, and kayaking with the Outdoor Adventure Club or get active with club sports.
- Get hands-on event-planning experience by joining the Widener Activities Council (WAC), the campus programming board. Go to a Philadelphia 76ers game or amusement park, come to a free movie night, or enjoy live entertainment on campus as part of the WAC's weekly programs.
- Audition for a play with Theatre Widener for a moment in the spotlight.
