Club Sports

The ladies of Widener's rugby club will have you know that they can be just as dainty as the cheering squad. Just something to keep in mind when they're knocking you into next week. Slideshow.

Don't be frightened: the whole 'mud and blood' thing is just a ruse to scare away the weak-spirited. Or is it? Slideshow.

Widener University created its Club Sport program to provide students with an organized, non-varsity athletic experience. Sports not already represented at Widener as intercollegiate sports (NCAA), are eligible for club sport status.

Each club sport exists by means of students’ participation and involvement. It is the responsibility of each club to determine goals, objectives, finances and schedules and implement the steps needed for success. Students accepting responsibility and performing the duties of a recognized sports club is a part of the education process offered at Widener University. Clubs must also abide by the rules and regulations of their sport’s governing body, league, or union. Club advisors and the Director of the Wellness Center will help facilitate this process for all clubs.

ONLY full-time, day, undergraduate, Main Campus students are eligible to participate in Widener University's Club Sport Program. All club sport participants must maintain a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
