Construction continues on Widener's new academic building, which will house the School of Nursing and the Oskin Leadership Institute.
Widener's four campuses became tobacco-free on July 1, 2010.
The Widener University Wellness Center joins in partnership with other service and academic areas on campus to improve the quality of life for students, faculty and staff by providing varied and diverse recreational opportunities.
The Wellness Center, which opened in April 2006, houses the finest equipment from Life Fitness, Cybex, StarTrac and PreCor. The Wellness Center includes cardio and strength training floors and two aerobics rooms.
Experience the thrill of rock climbing on our 24-foot climbing wall, an architectural focal point of the Wellness Center. Climbers of all skill levels can challenge themselves, hone their skills, and keep in shape.
Eligibility
Eligible participants include Widener University staff, students, administration, faculty, retirees and spouses/domestic partners of full-time administration, faculty and support staff. Widener University alumni do not have access to the facility and the Wellness Center does NOT have a guest policy or issue guest passes.
A valid Widener University ID MUST BE PRESENTED at time of entry and all members must sign-in at the front desk . Individuals that do not present a valid Widener ID will be asked to leave.
All Widener University students, faculty, and staff are permitted to use the Wellness Center free of charge. Spouses/domestic partners of full-time administration, faculty and support staff are required to pay an annual membership fee.
Hours of Operation
Hours of operation are subject to change; however, Wellness Center schedules with holiday and break schedules are available at the front desk. Please consider:
- Hours are subject to modification based upon facility usage;
- Doors lock 30 minutes prior to closing time; and
- Activity areas close 15 minutes prior to closing.
Please look for modified hours during Spring and Fall Break, final exams, Summer and during holiday observances.
