Department of Biology

The Department of Biology supports the biology major, the largest major in the science division, as well as the biology minor, and course work required for students in many other disciplines. The eleven faculty members are focused on the academic and professional success of each student. Biology students develop meaningful mentoring relationships with faculty both in and outside of the classroom, and engage directly in productive scholarship.

Our graduates pursue M.S. and Ph.D. programs in science, go on to medical, dental and physical therapy school and have become employed as educators or as scientists in the private sector. You can see what individual faculty are working on by visiting their homepages which are linked to the faculty page at left.

Summaries of recent publications, presentations, and grants awarded to both faculty and students working with faculty are available by clicking on the links below. Use the links to the left to find out more about the biology major and minor curricula, the faculty, and our facilities, courses, and honor societies.
