PsyD/MA in Criminal Justice Program

The PsyD/MA in Criminal Justice Program is offered jointly through the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology and the Graduate Program in Criminal Justice.

 

Admission

Students wishing to pursue the joint PsyD/MA in Criminal Justice program must apply to and be accepted into each program separately. Applications for the Graduate Program in Criminal Justice can be obtained from the Social Science Office in the Kapelski Learning Center (LC 226). Courses are offered in the Fall, Spring & Summer semesters.

 

Curriculum

PsyD/MA degree students are required to take the following Criminal Justice courses to earn the MA degree:

 

Core Requirements

  • CJ 501 – Nature of Crime & Delinquency (3 credits)
  • CJ 504 – Seminar in Law & Criminal Justice (3 credits)
  • CJ 505 – Organizational Behavior in Criminal Justice (3 credits)
  • CJ 506 – Seminar in Planning & Program Development (3 credits)

Graduate Criminal Justice Electives

Four additional graduate Criminal Justice electives (12 credits) must be taken to complete the degree. Descriptions of courses and offerings can be found in the College of Arts & Sciences 2007-2008 Graduate Bulletin.

 

Doctoral Dissertation

Joint degree students are required to select a dissertation topic with relevance to the field of Criminal Justice and have a member of the Criminal Justice faculty serve on their dissertation committee.
